Wolf Run Golf Club In Field Creek Ranch

If you’re in South Reno, there is one course that every golfer of all skill levels will recommend. It is the Wolf Run Golf Club in Field Creek Ranch which offers a top notch course in terms of layout and challenge.

The original plan for the land, where the course is situated, was to build an extension farm for the agricultural school or as a satellite campus of the University of Nevada-Reno. The university received the land as a donation from a local rancher. However, the first plan did not push through as it give way to the idea of PGA professional Lou Eiguren to have a premier course in Reno. On average, the semi-private course hosts over 30,000 rounds every year including the Ladies Publinx Championship.

The par 72 course was designed by John Fleming with a yardage of 6936 from the longest tee, a USGA rating of 72.1 and a slope rating of 130. The course has four sets of tees for different skill levels. Wolf Run Golf Club in Field Creek Ranch features a wide-open layout making it as a fair course still bringing challenge but does punish the golfers badly. Golfers must take note the tricky greens as this will test their skills. The 18-hole course maintained its beauty for over a decade since it was built and continuously improving its conditioning through installation of new sprinkler system.

The course has different facilities including the clubhouse, golf shop and grill. There are also practice facilities including a putting green, chipping green and driving range. Green fees cost are lower compared to other courses.
